Molonta Heritage Estate: A Journey Through Olive Harvesting
Updated: Nov 3, 2025
Molonta Heritage Estate is a place where tradition meets sustainability. Each month brings a new blessing. Our estate is more than just land; it embodies Mediterranean culture. In October, nature reaches its peak. We have the opportunity to rewrite an eternal story: the story of the olive tree, its blessing, and its liquid gold.
At the core of the Mediterranean diet, culture, and life stands the olive tree. It is more than just a tree; it symbolizes peace, longevity, and divine blessing. Autumn brings the most important cycle on our estate: the olive harvest and the birth of our precious olive oil.
Olive: Our Heritage and Culture of Living
Our olive trees, from young saplings to ancient giants, are integral to the history and tradition of this region. Each tree tells a story of generations that have nurtured this rocky soil and lived in harmony with nature.
At Molonta Heritage Estate, sustainability and a culture of living go hand in hand. Our Mediterranean diet, known for its abundance of healthy food, is based on extra virgin olive oil. Health and longevity result from the simple, natural ingredients our land provides. The olive is truly the queen of this treasury.

Harvest: The Fruits of Patience and Hardworking Hands
Autumn colors our olive trees in a palette of colors: from green to reddish and dark purple. This signals the perfect moment to act. Harvesting is a family and social event that brings us all together.
Each olive is carefully picked by hand to ensure top quality. Fast and careful harvesting is key. Only undamaged fruit, processed without delay, yields oil with exceptional aroma and low acidity.
From Fruit to Golden Drop: The Milling Process
After harvesting, the race against time is paramount. The harvested fruit is immediately transported to processing – milling in an oil press – within 24 hours. The moment when the olives enter the mill is exciting because patience turns into a reward.
The process is simple but precise: washing, crushing, and finally cold pressing (centrifugation). From the machine flows clean, bright green, new oil – our pride!
This is extra virgin olive oil from the Molonta Heritage estate: low acidity, strong aromas, with notes of bitterness and spiciness. These characteristics testify to the high concentration of polyphenols – natural antioxidants that make the oil so healthy.
Sustainability in Harmony with Nature
Our estate functions as a closed loop, where nature helps us. While the olives provide their bounty in the fall, our donkey Nina and the goats play a vital role in maintaining the estate.
Nina the donkey and our goats are not just pets. They help to naturally control vegetation, feeding on what would otherwise become weeds. They also enrich the soil in an ecological way with their natural fertilization. Their contribution is extremely important for the fertility of our olive groves, closing the circle of sustainable and natural cultivation without the use of artificial fertilizers.
The Year-Round Abundance of Molonta Heritage Estate
From spring blossoms and summer fruits to autumn harvest and winter vacation, Molonta Heritage Estate offers its abundance every month. However, the olive harvest in October is the annual highlight. It is the moment when our history, effort, and dedication transform into golden drops of oil that we are proud to share with you.
There is no better way to taste the Mediterranean and our heritage!
